Resilient Millgrove
Community Resilience Plan
Millgrove’s Community Resilience Plan, complements the Millgrove Community Plan (2021). It focuses on how we as the Millgrove community can best prepare ourselves to meet the natural hazards that we face, particularly fires and floods.
This Plan represents a starting point. The Millgrove Residents Action Group (MRAG) has been working with the support of the Minderoo Foundation and ResilientCo, to identify how to best help Millgrove to be prepared, so we can manage – and hopefully avoid – flood and fire disasters
We designed six key projects we think will make the most difference to our community.
MRAG working bee
Every 2nd Saturday and 4th Tuesday of the month MRAG organises working bees which are announced on our Facebook and Instagram site. It is fun working together and we have great morning teas. A great way of meeting new people. Hope to see you at our next working bee.
Muster
In April 2023 a working bee/Muster was held, which was led by Australian Resilience Corps and Connecting Communities Australia. It was held over three days in April 2023 and was a huge success!
Most of the volunteers came from further afield, giving up their time to support our community, with everyone having their own unique reason to come and help us to prepare for a fire resilient season. We had a great time working together and learning along the way.
