Roads for the Community
Roads for the Community Initiative
Do you live on an unsealed road in Millgrove? If you do, did you receive a letter from Yarra Ranges Council and the Council’s Roads for the Community Initiative with an offer for subsidized sealing of your road?
Respond & Contact Landlord
If you have not yet responded, it is not too late to do so. If you are renting and you would like to see your road sealed, please contact your landlord and request that he/she respond positively to the plan.
MRAG had a presentation from Council’s Roads for the Community Initiative at our last meeting, advising us of the benefits to the area and possibility of this being a once off offer for subsidized sealing of roads within Millgrove. MRAG feels it is important that everyone understands this clearly and that those who are unsure are given more information to make a decision. For the project to go ahead, Council’s Roads for the Community Initiative requires a response from each household that this letter was sent out to.
Two of the main areas awaiting responses are:
- Wonga and River Roads
- Unsealed courts leading off McKenzie King Drive.
For those who may feel that they just cannot afford contributing, you may be eligible for consideration under the Council’s Rate Relief and Financial Policy.
We are working with Yarra Ranges Council and the Council’s Roads for the Community Initiative to gain more information and tailored presentations for Millgrove to assist residents in making an informed decision.
Information provided by Yarra Ranges Council in relation to the sealing of roads and the benefits for the community.
A video regarding the Special Charge Scheme for roads is available. It also explains the process of sealing the roads (including kerb and channel and associated underground stormwater drainage)
NOTE: whilst this video is current for Yarra Junction it has useful info that can relate to the Millgrove proposal.
